The AI Footage Problem

A year ago, a blurry clip took real effort to fake. Today, a convincing one takes a text prompt. That changes how we have to watch everything — including the archive.

Our approach hasn't changed in principle, only in rigor: provenance first. Who shot it, on what, and can we see the original file? A clip with no source is a story, not evidence.

We're not here to declare every video fake. We're here to slow down, ask the boring questions, and be honest about what modern tools can now produce. Skepticism is a form of respect for the real reports.
