Pennsylvania's Quiet Season of Reports

Every year, as the hardwoods leaf out across Pennsylvania's northern tier, the reports tick up. It's tempting to read meaning into the pattern — and just as important to consider the mundane explanations first.

More people are in the woods in late spring. Turkey season, morel hunting, and trail work all put boots in remote drainages exactly when the reports cluster. Correlation, as always, is not a footprint.

That said, the consistency is worth logging. We track every report by county and month, and we share the raw pattern rather than a conclusion. Draw your own — that's the whole point of the show.
